-- Introduction --

BlogNinja is a piece of software intended for the writing and publishing of weblogs. It is used to create and manage a database of entries (stored in XML and therefore portable) which can then be rendered (via a template) into HTML.

...and predictably archive templates didn't work. Fixed and improved. I added an extra tag for an archive title.

Hmmm

Of course...so far I haven't tested the archive template concept. I will do so immediately

Ch ch ch ch changes!!!!

Changed the code format. Now the internal code for each entry is used. I'm assuming it works and will believe that this is the case unless I am informed otherwise.

Of course you don't actually need any of the fancy stuff. See?

This is the new face of BlogNinja!
Added link and image fields!
More fun than ever before!
Slight format change!
Nobody uses the software so I couldn't care less!

Also...

The possibility of adding link and img sections to this stupid blogging software has occured to me. More soon. Ish.

Interesting new software

Theeverbranching is a new hypertext making thing I'm writing. It is about as hacked together as anything every but it seems to be doing the "workingness". I may add my discoveries to Zineophile.

All set up...

And a new screeney:

In other news. my computer seems to be crashing at random. This may be something to do with a faulty fan.

Minor new addition...

A new attribute that keeps us up to date on whether a particular article has been changed recently. Now I must redo the Readme.txt file and then...release!

FTP stuff

Is it going to be usefull to people (possibly people reading this ) to be able to automatically FTP the blog and any changes therein? Because I'd need an FTP server to test that sort of thing. I could also do with hosting for my own blog.

Changes in this version...

Everything. This is a top to toe rewrite using everything I've learned from writing my other programs. It does basically all the same stuff but better and prettier. The promised arbitrary fields thing hasn't been implemented because I couldn't be bothered and it seemed unnessecerily complicated. Instead are new "title" and "author" fields. Also the UI is now wxPython based.
Here's a screeney:

Any further features will be at the suggestion of (currently largly theoretical) others. Note also that the database format has been radically changed.

Okay...

...after nuking my new database file and rebuilding it, I've now (hopefully) hammered all the stupid bugs out of this new version of BlogNinja. More momentarily

I am hovering on the edge of not bothering with further blogninja updates. All will become clear.
